On 2 April 2025, the Beninese military shot and killed a Burkinabe farmer in a forest between Burkina Faso and Banikoara, coded to Banikoara (Banikoara, Alibori), while returning from Kaobagou to Burkina Faso on his motorcycle, after he was ordered to stop but tried to flee in panic.
