[Burundi] Violence against civilians: Attack

On 31 March 2025, Imbonerakure arrested and beat a 20-year-old young man and member of the CNDD-FDD party on Rwingoma hill ( Buhiga, Bahiga, Karuzi). The victim was accused of stepping on a CNDD-FDD party T-shirt, being a CNL party member, and intending to kill Imbonerakure from Muyange hill because he had a knife on him. The victim was ordered to pay a fine of 30 000 BIF the following day.
