[Burkina Faso] Violence against civilians: Attack

On 5 April 2025, JNIM militants attacked the village of Mara-Grand (Sourou, Boucle du Mouhoun), as well as the villages Tiao and Gonon (coded separately), after deciding to enlist a number of residents as volunteer fighters (VDP). The militants killed over 100 people, abducted dozens of young men, and caused extensive material damages. After the attacks, several inhabitants left the villages. 100 fatalities split across 3 locations. 33 fatalities coded to this event.
