On 14 April 2025, Houthi Security and Intelligence Service police forces abducted tens of civilians in the districts of Bani Matar (coded to district center Matnah), Hamdan (coded to district center Al Khaniq), Sanhan (coded to district center Sayyan) and in the city of Sanaa (Amanat al Asimah). The reason for these abductions was accusations of espionage and the passing of sensitive information to US forces regarding the locations of Houthi leaders and weapons warehouses and workshops.
