On 28 March 2025, 300 to 400 members of the Catholic church and other Christian denominations gathered outside the state capitol building in Topeka (Kansas) to express opposition to a 'Black Mass' held by the Satanic Grotto and to pray. When members of the Satanic Grotto entered the state capitol, demonstrators also entered the state capitol to confront them and the two groups pushed and punched each other. The police arrested 4 people, including both the Christian demonstrators and members of the Satanic Grotto, for disorderly conduct and unlawful assembly.
