On 2 April 2025, taxi drivers carried out a protest in front of the governorate's headquarters in Kebili (Kebeli Nord, Kebili) to reject the Regional Transport Administration's decision to prohibit them from transporting passengers from Kebili to Souk al Ahad. The protesters denounced the decision as arbitrary.
