On 10 April 2025, a large number of members of the Tail-end Abadgar Welfare Association of Nara Canal (farmers group), Youth Committee of Digri, youths from various communities, social leaders and farmers took out a protest rally and staged a sit-in in Mirpur Khas city (Mirpur Khas, Sindh), opposing the federal government's plan to construct six new canals on the Indus River.
