On 1 April 2025, a group of men from Tari assaulted a police officer and damaged a police vehicle at Koki (Port Moresby, National Capital District). While the reason for the attack on the officer is not known, a separate unrelated fight that took place the next day between a group from Goilala and Tari led to the police closing the Koki Market (coded separately).
