Around 7 April 2025 (between 6 - 9 April), the Niger military exchanged fire with an unidentified Nigerian armed militants in Gangara Nachambe (Madarounfa, Maradi). The militants fled towards Nigeria, and the military launched a pursuit operation that resulted in the arrest of one militant and the seizing of a motorcycle. There were no fatalities.
