[Mozambique] Battles: Armed clash

On 27 March 2025, ISM militants set up a road block and abducted 2 Mozambique military members while they were travelling to purchase supplies on the N380 between Quinto Congresso and Nova Zambezia in Chai (coded to Quinto Congresso, Chai, Macomia, Cabo Delgado). They were travelling with civilians who were released; sources differ on whether they were ransomed. The militants demanded 15,000-50,000 meticais ransom for 1 member while the status of the other is unknown. ISM claimed they captured 1 soldier, killed him and released the Muslims.
