On 17 April 2025, near Oaxaca de Juarez, Oaxaca, bus drivers and members of United Transport Drivers of Oaxaca blocked Barranca Larga-Ventanilla highway, which connects the state capital and Puerto Escondido. The demonstrators allowed traffic but prevented the passage of buses from the ADO company, which they accuse of benefiting from excessive concessions to gain a monopoly on the use of the highway. State police officers arrived at the scene, dispersed the protesters and arrested an unspecified number of them (methods unknown).
