[Mauritania] Protests: Peaceful protest

On 7 April 2025, at the call of the Student Initiative Against Zionist Infiltration and the National Ribat To Support the Palestinian People, hundreds or thousands of people including unions members, politicians (Siraj), MPs, university students, Imams, teachers, and health workers, held a protest march towards the US embassy in Nouakchott (Tevragh-Zeina, Nouakchott) to denounce US support to Israel in its war in Gaza and express their support to the Palestinian resistance. The demonstrators joined thousands of people who started an open sit-in on 5 April (coded separately) in front of the US embassy calling for the expulsion of the US ambassador to Mauritania. The protest was part of the nationwide strike in support of Palestine conducted on 7 April (coded separately).
