[Sri Lanka] Violence against civilians: Attack

On 1 April 2025, a person in custody of police was suspectedly tortured by the police at Welikada police station (Colombo, Western) during interrogation. He died after he was transferred to the Mulleriyawa Mental Hospital on 2 April 2025. He was arrested following a complaint about an unauthorized entry into a house in Nawala.
