On 15 April 2025, policemen assaulted a BGRD member near the interstate border near the Yamuna Naka (police post) in the Panipat district (coded to Panipat city, Haryana). The policemen who had arrived in the area to investigate cattle smuggling were accused of asking for a bribe from the BGRD member. A video of the incident was circulated online. The two policemen were suspended, and one was dismissed from service.
