On 14 April 2025, around 20 unidentified armed assailants fired several rounds of bullets at the residence of KNA's Deputy Army Chief (DAC) at Thenthang Martinjang village in Churachandpur district (coded to Churachandpur town, Manipur) over unknown reasons amidst ongoing violence between Meitei and Tribal communities in the state. His guards and neighbours fired back. The DAC managed to escape without any injuries.
