On 10 April 2025, a group of people protested in front of the police headquarters in Semarang city (Central Java province). They opposed the ratification of the revisions to the country's Military Law, which would allocate more civilian posts for military officers. They also demanded justice for the shooting of a student of SMKN 4 Semarang by a police officer in November 2024 (coded separately).
