On 16 April 2025, in Petion Ville - Morne Hercule, Ouest, scores of citizens held a demonstration demanding that the authorities take measures to stop the widespread gang violence. Demonstrators set up barricades of burning tires and stones. The police dispersed them using tear gas near the Saint-Jean Bosco church. Mobilizations on the same claims were held in other neighborhoods across the capital as part of the Black Wednesday Initiative (Mercredi Noir) against insecurity (coded separately).
