[Haiti] Riots: Violent demonstration

On 2 April 2025, between Petionville and Delmas - Delmas 60, Ouest, thousands of residents, called by the 'Unblock Haiti' citizens' movement, held a march with banners and machetes towards Villa D'Accueil (in Delmas 60) to decry rising insecurity and to demand the stepping down the Transitional Presidential Council, among other claims. Armed demonstrators set up burning barricades in Delmas 91 and 95 and were seen firing shots to force residents into their houses along the Freres Road (Delmas 95) and the Juvenat Road (Juvenat). Police forces fired real bullets and tear gas to disperse the crowd in Villa D'Accueil (Delmas 60). The demonstrators responded throwing stones and attacking business establishments. Another group of residents who marched over the same claims from Canape-Vert (Port-au-Prince) were dispersed in Bourdon (Port-au-Prince) (coded separately).
