On 16 April 2025, in Port-au-Prince - Canape-Vert, Ouest, hundreds of citizens held a protest demanding that the authorities take measures to stop the widespread gang violence. Protesters set up roadblocks from Debrosse to the Canape-Vert square using vehicles and debris. Mobilizations on the same claims were held in other neighborhoods across the capital as part of the Black Wednesday Initiative (Mercredi Noir) against insecurity (coded separately).
