On 8 April 2025, in Mirebalais, Centre, police forces clashed with the Viv Ansanm Gang in Carrefour Peligre, near the Mirebalais communal market. The gang members were also identified as members of the Taliban Gang and 400 Mawozo Gang. During clashes, at least 25 gang members were killed and 15 others were lynched by members of the population, supported by a self-defence brigade (likely the Bakop Feral Mirebalais self-defence group, who have engaged in similar clashes in previous days), and eight civilians were injured. A police officer and a self-defence brigade member were also killed. Clashes took place amidst police anti-gang interventions in Mirebalais, which had been under gang attack since 31 March (coded separately). At least 42 fatalities, 8 injured.
