On 3 April 2025, persons with disabilities, including women, clashed with the police, who were trying to evict them from the Faycal mosque in Conakry (Matoto, Conakry). There was shouting, pushing and physical confrontation as the police attempted to seize the wheelchairs of persons with disabilities and load them into their pickup trucks before ordering them to leave the premises. Police fired tear gas. They regained control of the area with the help of communal guards. The police were accused of stealing goods, such as food, money and clothing, belonging to the disabled.
