Property destruction: On 14 April 2025, overnight, unidentified perpetrators set fire to a car belonging to a prison guard outside the prison in Reau (Ile-de-France). At the time of reporting, the attack was believed to be part of a coordinated series of arson incidents targeting prisons across France. A previously unknown group, the Group for the Defense of Prisoners' Rights (Groupe de la Defense des Droits des Prisonniers - DDPF), claimed responsibility via the Telegram platform, stating their aim was to defend human rights in detention facilities. However, Minister of Justice Gerald Darmanin suspected the group was linked to drug traffickers.
