[Algeria] Violence against civilians: Attack

On 9 April 2025, Algerian army forces attacked gold miners in Agroub district near Dakhla refugee camp (Tindouf, Tindouf), killing 2 and injuring nine others, including three critically. The victims, a Mauritanian and a Saharawi refugee, were engaged in gold prospecting, when they were pursued by a military patrol. Following the incident, Saharawi refugees and relatives protested against members of the Algerian army (coded separately).
