Property destruction: On 5 April 2025, in Cauquenes (Maule), three Venezuelan nationals, including one suspected member of El Tren de Aragua gang, shot at the property of a prison commander working at the Santiago 1 Preventative Detention Center after placing a bouquet of white roses outside his door. The perpetrators fired ten shots at the door and the bouquet contained a note with death threats that was signed by 'Those opposed to abuse'. The victim's sister received threats on her mobile phone on 8 April too before the perpetrators were arrested on 14 April in Nunoa, Renca, and Quinta Normal (although some sources list Independencia and Estacion Central instead). The perpetrators had driven to Cauquenes from Santiago.
