[Chile] Protests: Peaceful protest

On 3 April 2025, in Valparaiso (Valparaiso), between 2,000 and 4,000 workers, most of them public workers, including unionized teaching assistants, teachers affiliated with the College of Teachers Union, health workers affiliated with CONFEDEPRUSS, and kindergarten workers affiliated with APROJUNJI, marched through the city as part of a nationwide strike organized by CUT and ANEF to demand follow-through from the government on pledges to improve working conditions. Protesters specifically demanded minimum wage increases, the extension of the 40-hour work week to the public sector, an end to public budget cuts, collective bargaining, retirement benefits, and action on violence from service users, including students. The president of the congressional Labor Commission (PCC) also joined the march.
