On 28 March 2025, a group of LUCHA militants protested in front of REGIDESO in Matadi (Matadi, Kongo Central) against the shortage of drinking water. The Police repressed the peaceful protest 'brutally'. A dozen of people were injured, some severely, under unclear circumstances.
